About The Position
A laborer performs a variety of duties and tasks in support of plant operations. SMS group is an industrial equipment manufacturer for the steel industry. We design, build, and service equipment and sleep plants across the globe with a strong technical services/machine shop network in North America.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Reading / Writing skills (literacy) as required
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Responsibilities
- Performs clean up, removal of trash, coolant, oil, scrap, chips, etc.
- Daily, weekly, monthly, custodial duties
- Moves equipment, and parts using the fork truck, crane, or other material handling equipment
- Assists other employees as directed by management or group leaders
- Completes paperwork
- Keeps work area, tools and equipment clean and orderly
- Reports and/or corrects all unsafe conditions immediately
- All other assigned duties
