About The Position

Sundt is looking for a Basic Laborer to assist the border fence panel installation crew. This role involves preparing the work area, handling materials, guiding panels into place, installing braces and mesh, maintaining site cleanliness, and performing other general labor duties as directed. The position requires passing a pre-employment drug test and availability for overtime. The rate is $27.41/hr. plus cash fringe benefit. Working hours are 60+ per week. Qualified candidates may receive a $1,246 weekly per diem. The estimated project duration is 1 year. The Job Summary includes assisting skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties and working in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman.

Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be available to work overtime.
  • Ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
  • May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
  • Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
  • Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50Ibs. on an occasional basis.
  • Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • NCCER Core Curriculum and /or a High School diploma or equivalent is also preferred.
  • One year experience (level I), two years' experience (level II) and three plus years' experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry is preferred.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
