About The Position

This Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) position is assigned to Cypress Lakes Golf Course at Travis Air Force Base, California. The Laborer supports golf course and clubhouse operations by preparing golf carts and rental equipment for customers, maintaining outdoor areas, keeping the course and parking areas free of litter, and cleaning restrooms and clubhouse windows. The position requires occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to use and clean common hand tools and simple power equipment and to bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.

The incumbent must complete a favorable background investigation and a pre-employment physical examination. Shift work is required to provide coverage during evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. The position is open to everyone, subject to applicable eligibility and hiring preferences. No prior training or work experience is required. Education cannot substitute for experience. This is an Air Force and Space Force MWR position.

Requirements

• No prior training or work experience is required.
• Must be able to use, control, and clean common hand tools and simple power equipment.
• Must be physically able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
• Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.
• Must complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• Must complete a pre-employment physical examination to ensure fitness to perform the duties.
• Must work shifts to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
• Must meet applicable qualification, eligibility, and background requirements.
• Applicants must provide a REAL ID or an authorized combination of source identity documents to facilitate installation access.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Direct deposit is required.
• Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.

Responsibilities

• Perform simple golf cart maintenance, including replenishing fuel or charge levels and washing carts.
• Ready golf carts for customer use, including cleaning and washing them.
• Maintain rental equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
• Maintain the area surrounding the clubhouse, including mowing, weed control, and using a leaf blower.
• Fill water coolers on the course.
• Pick up trash from containers on the course and at the clubhouse.
• Pick up trash around parking lots and keep them free of debris.
• Pick up balls on the driving range using a cart equipped with a ball picker.
• Clean restroom facilities on the course and at the clubhouse.
• Wash the interior and exterior windows of the clubhouse.
