About The Position

Construction Laborers perform physical labor throughout the building process. They work closely with other laborers and carpenters on construction sites. Laborers may prepare sites by cleaning up trash and materials, loading or unloading materials, removing hazards, help construct or deconstruct scaffolding or other temporary structures, and may operate some types of equipment if qualified.

Requirements

• Experience with necessary tools and equipment
• Possessing a valid driver’s license
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Ability to work alone or with a team

• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Help equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary.
• Operating construction equipment and machinery.
• Handling and transporting construction materials.
• Cleaning construction site and obtaining a safe work environment.
• Helping with setting up or transferring temporary structures.
• Remove, fill, or compact earth.
• Following instructions from supervisors.
• Reporting machine malfunctions or unsafe conditions.
