About The Position

The Laborer position is responsible for maintaining the Apache Generation Station in a clean condition. This role also involves supervised participation in the maintenance and operation of various plant equipment located both within the plant and in outside areas as required.

Requirements

Ability to detect irregularities in the operation of the fuel handling system and equipment.
Ability to follow instructions accurately and to report accurate information to other personnel.
High School education or equivalent with some knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of machinery.
Knowledge of O.S.H.A. regulations as related to occupational duties.
Demonstrated ability and initiative to carry out work assignments

Responsibilities

Keep work area and plant in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
Cleaning of coal conveyor systems.
Maintain cleanliness in the scrubber, stack and limestone areas.
Inspect and maintain spray nozzles, water strainers, air and water hoses, etc. to insure the integrity of the Dust Suppression Systems.
Inspect the coal/limestone conveyor systems for deficiencies and report any deficiencies to Maintenance/Planning.
Maintain and clean distribution line manipulating equipment, including cables, winches, buoys, etc.
Operate hand tools.
Assist contract and plant maintenance personnel in pond upgrades, repairs, etc.
Provide assistance in scrubber packing cleaning and replacement
Clean hotwells, waterboxes, boilers and cooling towers during outages.
Be able to use safety equipment for the above procedures and equipment.
