About The Position

The Field and Site Operations Technician supports construction activities by preparing job sites, assisting with ongoing projects, and ensuring a safe, clean, and organized work environment. This role works closely with Superintendents to prepare homes for inspections, coordinate materials and equipment, and support overall field operations. The ideal candidate has basic construction knowledge, strong attention to detail, and experience using power tools.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of relevant construction or field experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • Proficiency in using power tools and basic hand tools
  • Knowledge of fastening systems (e.g., Kreg Jig) preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents and instructions
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must supply basic hand tools (power tools and PPE provided by Bear Homes)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of fastening systems (e.g., Kreg Jig)

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual tasks and assist Superintendents with daily site operations
  • Prepare job sites for construction activities, including inspections and signage setup
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards across all job sites
  • Take the lead in maintaining overall home site and subdivision cleanliness, including holding subcontractors accountable
  • Perform handyman tasks, including prep work, detail work, and corrective or preventive maintenance
  • Assist with installation tasks, including decks and general carpentry work
  • Support framing crews as needed
  • Assist trim carpenters with tasks such as: Hanging mirrors, Installing cabinet hardware, Installing bath accessories
  • Perform maintenance on machines and equipment used by field personnel
  • Walk homes and job sites to ensure construction aligns with plans and standards
  • Report issues to Superintendents and office staff (Design, Estimating, and Purchasing)
  • Assist in preparing homes for inspections, walkthroughs, and punch list completion
  • Ensure homes are ready for buyers and meet company quality standards
  • Act as a liaison between field staff, Superintendents, office teams, and subcontractors
  • Help resolve field issues and conflicts as they arise
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on signage, including installation, maintenance, removal, and storage
  • Pick up and deliver equipment or materials for homes under construction
  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Follow all safety procedures and installation guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
