About The Position

The Laborer performs a variety of tasks involving physical labor in general construction, asphalt, and pavement preservation, maintaining the highest levels of personal safety and meeting or exceeding company and customer quality standards. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.

Requirements

High School or Equivalent
Prior experience in heavy highway preferred
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen & fit for duty test
Must adhere to a drug free workplace and union substance abuse testing requirements

Valid driver's license is required
Union membership in good standing

Walks and stands for long periods of time, including up and down hills, over uneven terrain
Bends, stoops, squats, reaches to move, mix and test materials
Uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; Uses good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination, with the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
Possess excellent stamina to work between 8-12 hours per day
Shares information about work plan with co-workers
Collaborates with assigned work crews
Promotes and maintains safe work environment
Exhibits safe work behaviors; evaluates work area for hazards; eliminates or controls hazards
Wears all prescribed PPE
Participates in daily safety huddles and safety training; follows safe work plans
Reads and understands hazard signs, training materials, work plans, instruction manuals
