About The Position
This role involves a variety of tasks on construction sites, including loading and unloading materials, preparing and cleaning sites, and assisting skilled tradespeople. The laborer will operate hand and power tools, erect temporary structures, and work with materials like concrete and asphalt. Responsibilities also include debris removal, equipment maintenance, and reporting any safety or project concerns to supervisors.
Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
- Knowledge of construction tools, materials, and safety practices
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous construction experience is an advantage but not always required
Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Prepare and clean construction sites before, during, and after projects
- Assist carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, and other skilled workers as needed
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, barricades, and temporary structures
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials
- Remove debris and hazardous materials from work areas
- Follow project plans, instructions, and safety procedures
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment
- Report safety hazards, equipment issues, and project concerns to supervisors
