About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Laborer for a position in Decatur, AL. The Laborer position is responsible for assisting skilled construction workers in performing their assigned duties and performing a large variety of duties. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Foreman. Assigned duties are performed according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. The shift for this position is the night shift, from 7 PM to 5:30 AM.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
Ability to follow instructions without being distracted
Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

Digs, spreads and levels dirt and gravel
Lifts, carries, and holds building materials, tools, and supplies
Cleans tools, equipment, materials, and work areas
Mixes, spreads, or pours concrete, asphalt, gravel, or other materials
Joins, wraps, and seals sections of pipe
Performs a variety of non-machine tasks such as removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints with asphalt, placing culvert sections in trench, etc.
Spends time on one job or may be transferred from task to task as the project progresses to completion
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
