About The Position
PRIDE Industries is a fast-paced company with a mission: To Create Jobs for People with Disabilities while providing high quality, value-added solutions to our nationwide customers. This position is on a federal AbilityOne contract that requires that most of the work hours are performed by employees with disabilities. Due to program requirements, this particular position needs to be filled by a person with a disability. Under close supervision, the Laborer performs tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.
Requirements
- Ability to do physical labor throughout the day
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Valid Driver's License
Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Moving supplies and materials to proper location by wheel barrow or hand truck
- Collecting refuse and salvageable materials
- Digging, filling, and tamping earth excavations
- Leveling ground using pick, shovel, tamper, and rake
- Moving and arranging heavy pieces of furniture, equipment, appliances, machinery, etc.
- Assisting with snow removal at sites where required; spreading sand and salt on icy roads and walkways
- Other duties as assigned
