About The Position

Professional Tree Care is hiring a laborer to serve as a primary DRIVER for one of its tree care crews based out of Richmond CA. The initial work will focus on grounds-person basics (dragging brush, cleanup, and supporting a tree care team), learning how to drive large work trucks, how to tow/back-up a trailer, and eventually, how to climb trees as a professional. This role will provide you the opportunity to learn from a highly experienced aesthetic pruning crew, and the ability to learn become a professional ISA-certified climber.

Requirements

• Hardworking
• Physically fit and able to lift +/- 75 pounds or more
• Able to work outdoors for up to 8 hours per day in inclement weather year-round (hot in summer, cold in winter, possibly in rain)
• Able to lift your own body weight to hoist yourself into trees
• Current and clean California driver’s license (no points or recent tickets)
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• SEVEN YEARS of work experience since high school in ANY role or trade
• Live within an area 30-minutes from Richmond, CA (commute time of 45 minutes or less to 2550 Garden Tract Rd., Richmond, CA)

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Trades skills: carpentry, landscaping (plant maintenance & identification), hardscaping (building pathways, rock walls, etc.), general construction (building decks, sheds, etc.), Irrigation (installing manifold or drip lines), plumbing (installing PVC or other piping)
• Prior experience doing similar outdoor work
