About The Position

The Skilled Laborer supports construction worksite operations by performing a range of manual labor and site-maintenance tasks. The role involves using hand and power tools and construction equipment safely, assisting with grading and concrete removal, operating water pumps, handling materials, and keeping work areas clean and organized. The laborer communicates with others to complete tasks, runs worksite errands, and follows safety procedures. The position typically involves some industrial construction experience and the ability to use equipment with little supervision.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license.
Ability to safely traverse uneven terrain with or without tools and building materials.
Ability to use hand tools dexterously and safely.
General understanding of the safe use of different types of power and manual construction tools.
Ability to safely operate power tools and equipment.
Experience using equipment safely with little supervision.
Typically, some industrial construction experience.

Responsibilities

Communicate with others to perform job tasks.
Safely operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver’s license.
Run errands to support the worksite.
Traverse uneven terrain safely, with or without tools and building materials.
Perform tasks requiring dexterous and safe use of hand tools.
Use power and manual construction tools safely.
Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel to fine-grade specifications using hand tools.
Safely operate power tools and equipment.
Break up and remove concrete using power equipment, including a jackhammer, and hand tools.
Position and operate portable and submersible water pumps.
Clean and sort tools, equipment, and materials.
Clean and maintain work areas, parking lots, offices, and related areas.
Climb vertical ladders in sections up to 25–30 feet above or below ground elevation.
Stock drinking water containers for construction site personnel.
Follow all safety procedures.
