About The Position

This position involves performing physically demanding manual labor as a Refuse Collector. The role requires safely performing assigned duties, following instructions from City personnel, and working cooperatively with others. The job involves working under varied environmental and weather conditions, interacting professionally with the public, and representing the City positively. Assignments may require outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Requirements

Capable of lifting and moving materials weighing up to 100 pounds
Capable of performing extended periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, and repetitive manual labor
Able to pass a background check (state and federal previous 7-years)
Able to pass initial, random, and incident drug testing

Prior laborer experience is not required unless specified for a particular assignment
Specific assignments may require additional qualifications, experience, screening, or other requirements

Responsibilities

Safely perform assigned duties
Follow reasonable instructions from authorized City personnel
Work cooperatively with City employees and other personnel

Comply with all safety, PPE, attire, attendance, and assignment requirements
