About The Position

As a Laborer - Plumbing with a Modigent operating company, you will play a vital entry-level role supporting our commercial plumbing installation, service, and retrofit projects. You will assist skilled plumbers and crews with hands-on tasks such as material handling, site preparation, clean-up, and general support while learning the plumbing trade in a safe, structured environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, dig, and perform physically demanding tasks; must possess good physical stamina.
  • Primarily field-based on active construction and job sites (indoor/outdoor); exposure to varying weather, dust, noise, water, and mechanical hazards. Must strictly adhere to OSHA regulations and wear required PPE at all times. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Nice To Haves

  • 0–3 years in construction, labor, or a related field preferred; no prior plumbing experience required — strong work ethic and willingness to learn are most important.

Responsibilities

  • Assist plumbing technicians and crews with fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of commercial plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, waste/vent, gas piping, fixtures, hydronic systems, backflow prevention, and medical gas where applicable).
  • Perform general job site clean-up and organization to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment; move heavy items as needed.
  • Support site preparation activities, including digging, trenching, backfilling, and basic material staging.
  • Complete basic paperwork and documentation as directed.
  • Participate fully in daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Actively learn plumbing systems, tools, best practices, and industry standards through on-the-job training.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to support project goals and timelines.
