About The Position

This position involves picking up trash at the landfill and on highways leading to the landfill, cutting waste tires, recovering freon, cleaning the maintenance building, and performing other related duties. The role does not have budgetary responsibilities. City employees are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner.

Requirements

• Knowledge of general safety rules and equipment.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment and operations.
• Ability to follow instructions and carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• A valid Operator License with possibility to obtain a Class A License.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No experience necessary.

Responsibilities

• Picks up trash at landfill and highways leading to landfill.
• Mows grass and trims with weed eater.
• Assists in moving fences which serve as barriers to catch blowing paper.
• Cleans shop, break room and scales.
• Assists operators in digging out tracks on equipment.
• Directs traffic in the dump area when necessary.
• Processes waste tires.
• Performs freon recovery.
• Assists mechanic with equipment maintenance and repair.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
