About The Position

Assist skilled craft workers with their assigned duties and perform physical labor at construction sites. The position involves a variety of tasks in construction and industrial environments, with safety as the primary focus. The worker must follow instructions, keep work areas orderly, understand jobsite warnings and policies, and learn to identify hazards by observing installed equipment and systems.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous experience in the field or a related area.
• Strong working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Proficiency in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, power, layout, and measurement tools.
• Must have required tools.
• May require a U.S. driver's license.
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
• Able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across a construction or industrial site, if required.
• Able to move about a construction or industrial site and perform activities including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; may need to access work areas more than 200 feet high using ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, or scaffolds.
• Able to work in confined, cluttered, and uneven areas and in noisy and dusty environments.
• Able to work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.
• Able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist craftspeople with setting up work as required.
• Follow instructions from superintendents, foremen, and other experienced crew members.
• Perform duties with safety as the first priority.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Read and understand warning signs, equipment operating instructions, jobsite safety rules, and jobsite policies.
• Observe installed equipment or systems to identify hazards.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
