About The Position

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer I to prepare, handle, and supply materials for use by other crafts. The work includes loading and unloading equipment; erecting and dismantling scaffolding and staging; tending mortar, grout, and concrete; and cleaning work areas and clearing debris. The role requires working with tools and equipment and performing repetitive movements and physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. Loads over 50 pounds must be handled with assistance from another team member or equipment.

Requirements

• Must have completed a two-year apprenticeship.
• Ability to work with power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, attention to detail, active listening skills, and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; loads over 50 pounds are handled with assistance from another team member or equipment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging.
• Level ground for scaffolding.
• Tend mortar and grout.
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets.
• Clean up and clear debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris.
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete.
• Vibrate concrete.
• Work effectively and build relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
