About The Position

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer Helper that will be responsible for assisting Laborers and Laborer Journeyman with material handling, assembling and dismantling of equipment, preparing work areas, and cleaning of machines and workspaces. This role is crucial in supporting the construction team and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. The position involves a variety of physical tasks and requires a strong teamwork orientation.

Requirements

• Experience in construction preferred
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over 50 lbs will be done with assistance of another team member or equipment.
• Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment
• Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools to be used by other crafts
• Clean work area, machines, and equipment
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging
• Level ground for scaffolding
• Tend motor and grout: lift, unload, move, set, and shovel between wheelbarrows and buckets
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and loading or burning of debris
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
• Vibrate concrete
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned
