Laborer Heavy Duty Pkg - Night Shift
About The Position
This position breaks down empty totes, separating the good and bad totes, hand stacks cases on the pallets according to customer specifications, and assists the cold room personnel with breaks and lunches. This role builds, fills, stages, and caps totes in the cold room. The position also reports on any safety, quality, and sanitation regulation issues, inspects materials, products, and equipment to detect defects and malfunctions, and maintains good housekeeping of the work area. The Laborer ensures the Case Erector staging area is full at all times and maintains cleanliness of the work area. They operate controls to dump totes of product into hoppers and participate in safety huddles. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
- Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral.
- Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
- Basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
- Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements for job actions and procedures.
- Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
- Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
- Ability to operate work related equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis.
Nice To Haves
- Lock-out/Tag-out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification are preferred.
- Experience driving forklift in warehouse or manufacturing establishment preferred.
