About The Position

This position is responsible for performing grounds maintenance duties at the Naval Station of Great Lakes, IL. Requirements

Must pass criminal background check.
Must pass various State and Federal registry checks.
Must pass DCFS Abuse and Neglect Tracking System check.
Frequently standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting while mowing, trimming, blowing, raking, pruning, planting, and performing other related grounds maintenance duties.
Must pass criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

pass driving history check and Company policy criteria.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be 21 or older to drive.
Company travel using a personal insured vehicle is not required.

Responsibilities

Mows, trims, edges and blows/sweeps grass using mowers, trimmers, edgers, and blowers.
May be assigned to plant sod, shrubs, flowers, trees and/or landscape materials like blocks, pavers and rock.
Pruning, raking, applying or removing mulch and watering.
Safely operate equipment and perform minor maintenance of filling fluids, greasing, cleaning, replacing string or sharpening blades.
Contributes to teamwork by training and helping co-workers, communicating needs to the supervisor and implementing feedback for improvement.
Continually performs duties with a special focus on safety, quality and customer service.
