About The Position

The Laborer Ground Hand supports crushing plant operations by cleaning plant areas and conveyors, assisting with preventative maintenance and repairs, and keeping travel ways and job sites safe and orderly. The role requires safely operating various tools and equipment, completing work efficiently, communicating observed issues to plant operators, and complying with health, safety, environmental, and company requirements. MSHA Part 46 training is a plus. Other duties may be assigned by Management.

Requirements

Highly dependable.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be available to work more than 40 hours a week.
Able to perform the stated physical activities and work in all climates, including extreme temperatures.
Able to tolerate heights and work in confined spaces.
Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Able to wear respiratory and other personal protective equipment.

MSHA Part 46 training.

Responsibilities

Clean the plant using a shovel, water hose, and skid loader.
Assist with preventative maintenance of pulleys, bearings, gearboxes, idlers, belting, and related equipment.
Assist with repair work on wear plates, rock chutes, belt splicing, and changing idlers and bearings.
Keep travel ways clear of spillage to provide safe access for personnel.
Clean spillage around conveyors and crushers to keep crushing plants in production.
Safely operate tools and equipment, including walk-behind loaders, skid loaders, a power washer, a hammer drill, and grinders.
Keep buildings and job sites orderly and clean and store tools and parts properly.
Complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
Communicate issues observed during the day to plant operators.
Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties assigned by Management.
