About The Position

The Township of Pine (Township) is seeking a skilled and dependable Full Time (40 hours per week) Laborer–Electrician to support the maintenance and improvement of Township electrical systems, infrastructure, facilities, and parks. This hands-on role combines electrical expertise with general public works duties in a team-oriented municipal environment.

Requirements

  • Three (3) to five (5) years demonstrated experience in a commercial or industrial setting, required
  • Valid PA driver's license required
  • Ability to obtain additional certifications within 24 months (e.g., flagger, pesticide applicator)
  • CDL Class B (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of an electrical apprenticeship program, preferred
  • Certified Master or Journeyman Electrician, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and routine inspections of general light commercial electric installations to proactively identify potential hazards or failures.
  • Perform installation, repair and troubleshooting of electrical control systems and equipment such as but not limited to: maintain streetlights and signalized intersections that include low voltage and high voltage circuits.
  • Installation, or removal of electrical fixtures, traffic signals, street lighting equipment, control panels, timers and assorted electrical equipment including electronic controls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problem areas utilizing electrical knowledge and experience to repair faulty equipment or systems.
  • Conduct installation of new or renovation updates to existing electrical systems within Township buildings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to execute electrical work.
  • Appropriate use of hand tools, power tools, multi-meters, testers, megohmmeters, digital probes, and other electrical testing equipment for diagnosis of issues and use with repairs.
  • Available to work occasional weekends and nights throughout the Spring, Summer, and Fall months for emergency response.
  • Support roadway maintenance, including signage, paving support, storm systems, and snow/ice removal.
  • Maintain parks, grounds, and public spaces, including landscaping and event setup/cleanup.
  • Conduct general facility maintenance (e.g., basic construction, plumbing, HVAC support).
  • Operate trucks and heavy equipment (dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, plows, etc.).
  • Perform equipment maintenance and general labor tasks as needed.
