Requirements
- No experience is necessary.
- This position requires fieldwork which may include overtime, weekends, holidays, and off hours.
- Travel may be required depending on the business needs.
- Ability to pass a drug screening.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of basic tools, construction practices and communication networks.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and make good sound decisions based on information given.
- Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; lift 75 lbs.; works in all weather conditions
- Upon acceptance of an offer, all candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Fiber Splicing teams and actively learn fiber splicing for both loose tube and ribbon fibers.
- Learn and assist with fiber optic testing.
- Pair up with certified fiber splicers and learn the day-to-day jobs of a fiber splicer which includes but not limited to, Fiber optic cable prep, splicing, testing, Fiber Optic cable placement in a OSP and ISP environment.
- Perform data center cage and overhead ladder rack in accordance with industry standards.
- Read and follow design engineers’ instructions and specifications.
- Maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures.
