Laboratory Technologist (Part Time)
About The Position
At Techcyte, we are building SaaS solutions for microscopy testing using artificial intelligence (AI), including computer vision and deep machine learning. Lab Techs are a critical part of our day-to-day operation in our lab and assist engineering & product management with laboratory support to develop world-class machine-learning products for medical, environmental, and veterinary markets. The laboratory is located in Salisbury, NC, and we are looking for a motivated, flexible individual to join our team. This part-time position requires approximately 20–28 hours per week, with a preferred schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to at least 1:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail, especially with repetitive tasks
- Good organization and record-keeping skills
- Must be able to commute to the office in Salisbury, NC
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to work collaboratively within a team and across disciplines
- Experience working in a lab required (ie. safety, sample preparation, experience with light microscopes, etc.)
- College lab experience is acceptable
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in biology, clinical laboratory science, or related majors required.
Responsibilities
- Receive samples from clients and perform data entry tasks
- Prepare biological samples onto microscope slides
- Digitize microscope slides with various whole slide scanners
- Configuring scanners and software to perform optimally
