About The Position

This role involves performing mineral separations in a laboratory setting. The technician will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and health policies, and working collaboratively with other technicians to maximize team safety, productivity, and cost efficiency. The position requires self-motivation and effective communication skills, both oral and written. A key aspect of the role is coordinating laboratory data systems, ensuring quality system documentation is generated, maintained, and reviewed, and maintaining the calibration and proper operation of laboratory instrumentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma and 1-3 years of experience.
  • Understanding of laboratory analytical equipment including weighing balances, ovens and furnaces, pH meter, and separatory equipment.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively by both oral and written methods.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, earth science, geology or related science discipline or 2 – 5 years' experience.
  • Understanding of laboratory analytical equipment including XRF analyzer, magnetic separator, and screens, sieves, or other particle sizing equipment.
  • Experience with spectroscopic analysis desirable.
  • Mineral sands experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance to federal, state, and company safety, environmental, and health policies.
  • Work with other technicians to ensure maximize team safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate laboratory data systems.
  • Ensure adequate quality system documentation is generated, maintained, and reviewed.
  • Maintain calibration control and ensure proper and accurate operation of laboratory instrumentation.
