About The Position

As a full-time laboratory technician in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, this person would perform a variety of laboratory duties in a cancer research laboratory focused on transcription factors and gene expression. Tissue culture, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, as well as Western blotting and bacterial culture techniques would be the primary laboratory duties. Additionally, working with mice (tumor implantation/excision, drug treatment, health monitoring, euthanasia) will be required. Salary range for this position is $42,434 - $54,302. This individual would also aid in the maintenance of the laboratory, assisting with placing orders and maintaining laboratory materials and equipment. Applicants will also be responsible for conducting grant-funded research projects and must have high-level critical thinking skills/be able to independently drive a project with minimal-to-moderate oversight. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field; or
  • Associate’s degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time laboratory experience; or
  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time laboratory experience.
  • Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
  • High-level critical thinking skills.
