As a full-time laboratory technician in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, this person would perform a variety of laboratory duties in a cancer research laboratory focused on transcription factors and gene expression. Tissue culture, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, as well as Western blotting and bacterial culture techniques would be the primary laboratory duties. Additionally, working with mice (tumor implantation/excision, drug treatment, health monitoring, euthanasia) will be required. Salary range for this position is $42,434 - $54,302. This individual would also aid in the maintenance of the laboratory, assisting with placing orders and maintaining laboratory materials and equipment. Applicants will also be responsible for conducting grant-funded research projects and must have high-level critical thinking skills/be able to independently drive a project with minimal-to-moderate oversight.
