Laboratory Technician – Weekend Availability
About The Position
AGAT Laboratories is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join their Inorganics/Environmental lab in Edmonton, Alberta. This role involves assisting with administrative and basic laboratory services under the direction of a Laboratory Supervisor. Requirements
- Post-secondary education with a Technical Diploma or Science Degree.
- 0-2 years previous laboratory work experience.
- Intermediate computer skills with experience with MS office and LIMS.
- Good communication skills and fluency in English both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced work environment.
- Hand-Eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Mature work ethic, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to lift 25+ pounds as required.
- Comfort in working in a debris-prone environment with soils and sediment.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions.
- Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
- Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot intermediate instruments.
- Compile, verify and validate accurate data records.
- Meet quality assurance and turn around specifications.
- Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Report results.
- Other duties as assigned.
