About The Position

At MilliporeSigma, as a Laboratory Technician – 2nd Shift (Monday-Friday, 2:00pm-10:00pm), your activities will support assay development through commercial application of new and innovative service offerings within the biosafety testing space. You are responsible for the scientific integrity of technical work performed in the laboratory, and are required to make scientific observations, maintain detailed workbooks/documentation and ensure all documentation fulfills generally accepted professional/industry standards. Requirements also include maintaining a thorough understanding of company testing services, technical principles and applications as they apply to your position.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc.) -OR- High School diploma or GED with 1+ years of scientific/laboratory experience.
Basic skills in applicable computer programs.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Math up to and including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Nice To Haves

Experience with scientific laboratory practices, equipment, and materials.

Responsibilities

Documents tasks in compliance with SOPs and regulations (cGMP and GLP) as required
Maintains a standard condition of the facility through daily cleaning
Ensures availability of lab supplies and orders supplies as required
Cleans and sanitizes equipment and supplies as required
Labels Petrie dishes and other supplies as needed
Processes samples and ships inventory
Maintains temperature records
Complies with health and safety regulations
Cross-trains as required and assigned
Performs other duties as assigned
