About The Position

Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America, Inc. (AKBA) is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the daily operations of the process laboratory. This role involves preparing and maintaining reagents and equipment, managing supplies, and assisting with research and development activities. The technician will also support manufacturing operations for products used by GMP facilities, ensuring all activities adhere to SOPs and business practices for quality and safety. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, a hardworking attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential.

Requirements

Bachelor’s in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemical or Biomedical Engineering or similar scientific discipline
Experience in a laboratory setting is strongly desired
Ability to work in a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory is required.
Experience in a GMP or GLP environment is a plus

Responsibilities

Lead laboratory support activities, including preparing and maintaining reagents, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and organizing lab spaces.
Develop processes and procedures to ensure efficient usage of laboratory resources.
Assist in the execution and documentation of laboratory experiments and analytical assays under the supervision of scientists to develop and study bioproprocess filtration and chromatography operations, as needed.
Understand and follow all SOPs and business practices to ensure that performance and documentation of all activities meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Support manufacturing of EZ GPT Kits through Quality Control testing and reporting.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Good Documentation Practices.
Attend and contribute to group meetings on a regular basis and provide written monthly status updates.
Assist field staff with shipments of equipment for studies as necessary.
