Requirements

  • Highly skilled users of the LIMS systems.
  • Contribute to input and design reviews.
  • Works in a cross-functional matrix organization, including Product Development Core Teams and across departments including Customer Service, Finance/Accounting, Quality, the Laboratory Directors, Business Development, CDMA, and other departments as needed.
  • Skilled in the use of the Quality Management System for document management and reviews.
  • Self-motivated, works independently and has exceptional written and verbal skills.
  • Outstanding technical laboratory skills.
  • Knowledge of lab safety.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to thoroughness and error-free execution of procedures.
  • Exceptional organizational and documentation skills.
  • Basic computer skills required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work well as an individual and as a team member.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology; OR Equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined by CAP, CLIA, NYS CLEP.
  • Significant experience (e.g., 4 years) in a high complexity testing laboratory.

Nice To Haves

  • HPLC, LC-MS and/or ELISA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the setup, support and execution of the daily activities of the laboratory.
  • Performs clinical laboratory testing (i.e., test specimen receipt through test result generation) using standard in-vitro laboratory techniques.
  • Troubleshooting, data analysis, and report creation.
  • Completes training and Competency Assessment for all new and existing procedures.
  • Takes responsibility for completing continuing education (CE) requirements set by applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Performs all test realization functions in support of Biodesix products and services.
  • Perform duties in line with established SOPs.
  • Performs some troubleshooting and documents corrective actions thoroughly.
  • Enters appropriate data into LIMS with accuracy.
  • Uploads appropriate data to the Customer Service team.
  • Performs and may schedule laboratory equipment maintenance, including calibration and preventative maintenance, following SOPs.
  • Contributes to the creation and revision of Laboratory SOPs, Protocols and Reports in the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Contributes to the Internal Audit readiness through good documentation practices.
  • Performs all job functions in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Contributes to Development projects, as needed, and maintains appropriate documentation within an assigned laboratory notebook.
  • Communicates effectively with on-site and remotely located management/support teams.
  • May supervise new employees onboarding.
