The Department of Pathology is seeking a Laboratory Technician II to assist with the daily allocation of resources and coordination of activities to ensure a smooth operation. Performs a variety of laboratory tasks related to specimen receiving, processing, phlebotomy, sample storage, archiving, data entry of patient information, lab orders, telephone inquiries, and related problem resolution. Responsible for maintenance of laboratory equipment and supply distribution. Provides functional supervision of shift personnel. This position is 100% time, Monday – Friday between the hours of 0730-1730. Duties to include: · Demonstrates functional supervision by the ability to direct the daily allocation of resources and coordination of activities. · Ensures quality service to clients through communications with external and internal laboratories and support staff. · Performs pre-analytical work as assigned. · Performs or directs routine preventative maintenance o n laboratory equipment and cleaning as assigned. · Assists with selection and training new laboratory employees. · Performs phlebotomy For a full job description, please send an e-mail to the contact listed below.
