Our Laboratory Technician II in East Chicago, IN is responsible for the routine analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties. Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Science required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control
Follow Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures
Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb, stoop and stand for long periods of time

Nice To Haves

1 to 3 years’ experience in a related field
Experience with Inbound Receipt analysis using GC for PCB and Chlorine
In-Process and Final Product analyses experience using ICP for Metals, Viscometer, Pour Point, Particle Count, and/or NOACK

Responsibilities

Perform preparations and analysis to produce data (results, calibrations, QC) on inbounds, in-process and outbound analysis on routine samples.
Perform tank analyses to verify product specification.
Ensure that all work meets applicable QC/QA guidelines
Identify data anomalies and determine when follow up is necessary
Understand and follow procedures (IE analytical, safety, and quality)
Basic troubleshooting of the instrumentation
Preventative maintenance in the instrumentation assigned
Housekeeping, inventory, and waste disposal
Basic statistical data calculations and input
Work with others to complete analytical sequences.
