About The Position

Air Liquide Electronics is a world leader in supplying gases, specialty chemicals, and services to a wide variety of industries. Balazs Nanoanalysis, a contract analytical laboratory owned by Air Liquide Electronics, operates analytical labs globally, serving both internal and external clients. We support clients in industries such as semiconductor, biotechnology, aerospace/defense, solar, energy storage, and automotive. Our chemists assist scientists and engineers with quality assurance, contamination studies, R&D, and failure analysis. This role is responsible for running samples daily using ICP-MS, classical wet lab analyses, GC-MS, and particle counters in a fast-paced, dynamic, and safety-oriented environment. The technician will also be responsible for sample login and tracking, material and kit handling, hazardous waste disposal, data review, and reporting results. This position requires performing all Analyst 1 responsibilities, ensuring safe task completion, tuning and calibrating analytical instruments, routine sampling at client sites (if applicable), high-volume analysis of semiconductor-grade chemicals for trace impurities or assay, performing other analytical duties as assigned, routine preventative maintenance of instrumentation, communicating test results to customers, participating in the documentation of quality control standards and analytical results, cross-training on various lab tests, optimizing sample cycle times, maintaining supplies, answering customer and management questions about sample status, documenting safety protocols, escalating unresolved issues, implementing safety and quality improvements, attending Air Liquide Town Halls, implementing and maintaining 5S organizational principles, assisting customers with LIMS/database issues, following up on samples with long turnaround times, and troubleshooting instrument and sample analysis issues as directed by SOP/Chemists.

Requirements

  • Good computer skills with analytical instrumentation software, LIMS, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Must have initiative and be self-motivated.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Must be able to lift medium loads with the help of coworkers.
  • Perform repetitive sample analysis tasks daily.
  • HS Diploma with 7 years industrial laboratory experience OR Associate Degree in Chemistry or Similar and 5 years of Experience OR Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or Similar and 2 years of Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Run samples on a daily basis using ICP-MS, classical wet lab analyses, GC-MS, and particle counters.
  • Perform sample login and tracking.
  • Handle materials and kits.
  • Dispose of hazardous waste properly.
  • Review data and report results to the customer.
  • Ensure safe completion of all tasks in the lab.
  • Tune and calibrate Analytical Instruments.
  • Perform routine sampling at client site (where applicable).
  • High Volume analysis of semiconductor grade chemicals for trace impurities or assay.
  • Perform other analytical duties as assigned by the laboratory manager.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance of analytical laboratory instrumentation.
  • Communicate test results in a timely manner to factory customers to support manufacturing.
  • Participate in the documentation of quality control standards and analytical results.
  • Cross-train on a variety of analytical lab tests.
  • Participate in the optimization of sample cycle times and continuous laboratory improvements.
  • Work with laboratory personnel to ensure supplies are maintained.
  • Answer customer and management questions about sample status.
  • Participate in the documentation of safety protocols.
  • Ensure that unresolved analytical/instrumentation/LIMS/sample issues are escalated.
  • Implement safety and quality improvements.
  • Attend Air Liquide Town Halls.
  • Implement and maintain 5S organizational principles.
  • Assist customers by helping them with their issues with LIMS, databases, etc.
  • Follow up on samples with long dwell times (long TAT's).
  • Troubleshoot instrument and sample analysis issues as directed by SOP/Chemists.
  • Troubleshoot instrument software and connection issues as directed by SOP/Chemists.
