Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university, preferably in Biological Sciences
  • Precise and detail-oriented
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to write and speak fluently in English

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of laboratory experience
  • Experience with PBMC isolation and cryopreservation
  • Experience working in a GLP/GCLP environment
  • Experience working in a BSL-2 environment using sterile techniques

Responsibilities

  • Performing laboratory testing, primarily focused on blood and cell pellet processing within our Genomics Services unit, using the latest technologies.
  • Sample preparation, including plasma and cell isolation from blood samples, cryopreservation, thawing, and cell counting
  • Prepare solutions and reagents
  • Perform equipment maintenance, calibration, and cleaning
  • Enter sample information into a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Dispose of hazardous chemical waste in accordance with regulatory guidelines
  • Support inventory management and supply ordering
  • Report results, errors, and observations as required
  • Utilize laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office applications
  • Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies (GCP, CAP/CLIA, ISO) and document all quality control activities, with the ability to recognize outliers and take appropriate corrective action
  • Perform other duties as assigned
