About The Position

Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing a unique range of analytical testing services. This role is responsible for performing duties related to accessioning, specimen management, data entry, cleaning, and equipment maintenance within the laboratory. The position involves pre-analytical processes, client interaction for issue resolution, data entry into LIMS, equipment maintenance, reagent preparation, quality record maintenance, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The role also requires collaboration with other lab staff, issue management, and potentially training new technicians.

Requirements

  • Some laboratory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity and honesty, maintain confidentiality of patient, client, employee and laboratory business.
  • Possess understanding of Universal Precautions, working with potentially infectious human blood and body fluids.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comply with documents such as internal SOPs, operating and maintenance instructions, and company policies.
  • Analytical thinking and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures and to make accurate observations and records.
  • Skill in the use of medical laboratory equipment.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs, with database skills and 1 year data entry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing duties related to accessioning, specimen management and data entry, cleaning duties and equipment maintenances.
  • Performing pre-analytical processes within the life cycle of the laboratory specimen: collection, packaging, shipping, receiving, processing, tracking, and archiving.
  • Interfacing with Eurofins DPT clients to resolve specimen issues.
  • Performing data entry into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Performing cleaning duties, equipment daily and PM maintenance.
  • Assisting in reagent preparation and/or aliquoting that do not require quantitative measurement (employing previously calibrated and approved automatic syringes or fix pipettes).
  • Maintaining quality records as required.
  • Performing filing and archiving of quality and testing records.
  • Adhering to all quality and safety standards, policies and protocols in the lab as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Working closely and communicating with other lab staff to complete daily activities efficiently, contributing to team effort.
  • Managing issues and projects; resolving escalated issues as appropriate.
  • Demonstrating superior understanding of Laboratory operations.
  • Serving as the primary trainer for new Lab Technicians or re-training of existing Lab Technicians.
  • Performing duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Supporting Eurofins DPT’s business philosophy, leadership values, and ethics.
  • Meeting basic expectations of Eurofins DPT’s quality management system including, but not limited to good workmanship, adherence to standard operational procedures, training, good documentation practices, and accurate recordkeeping.
