Laboratory Technician I - Radiochemistry - Eurofins Drinking Water and Wastewater Central
About The Position
Eurofins Drinking Water and Wastewater Central, LLC. has a full-time Laboratory Technician I opening at our South Bend Laboratory in our Radiochemistry department. This is a full-time, hourly position averaging 40 hours per week. This position will be responsible for sample handling, reagent preparations, laboratory maintenance and assisting staff with routine water quality extractions, adhering to department’s daily QA/QC requirements, as well as supporting other laboratory needs that may arise. The work schedule may require evenings and/or weekends and the candidate must be able to work overtime on short same-day notice. Previous experience in a laboratory environment is preferred.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred, but not required; equivalent lab experience may substitute for a degree
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Word
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship
Nice To Haves
- Self-motivated with an understanding of basic laboratory practices related to chemical and physical testing of water samples or applicable fields
- Excellent documentation and communication skills in Microsoft Word, Excel is preferred
- Previous lab experience
- Ability to work well independently, as well as in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Support analytical staff with accurate weighing, pipetting skills, preparation of volumetric reagents and standards, labeling, and glass washing.
- Input of data into corporate database
- Clearly and accurately documenting data
- Cleaning and maintaining specific laboratory supplies, instruments and laboratory areas
- Following safe work practices and adhering to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner
