About The Position
AGAT Laboratories is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Laboratory Technician to assist with the sample preparation for our Gas Chromatography instrumentation. This role involves providing general lab support, performing basic laboratory procedures, operating and maintaining intermediate instruments, compiling and validating data, and ensuring adherence to quality control and standard operating procedures.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education with a Technical Diploma or Degree required.
- 0-2 year’s previous laboratory experience.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency using Excel and reporting results.
- Mature work ethic, with the ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.
- Problem solving, communication, organization, and time management.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift 25+ pounds on a consistent basis.
Responsibilities
- Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal
- Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions
- Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot intermediate instruments
- Compile, verify and validate accurate data records
- Meet quality assurance and turn around specifications
- Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures
- Report results
- Other duties as assigned
