About The Position
This is a seasonal position with an anticipated end date of January 4th 2027. The role involves performing basic laboratory procedures, including sample preparation, reagent preparation, and calibration solution preparation. General lab support such as washing glassware, cleaning workstations, and waste disposal is also required. The technician will operate instruments like GC-FID and TCD, with guidance on maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting. Basic analysis and reporting of results are key responsibilities, along with other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education with a Chemical degree/diploma or equivalent experience
- Previous work lab experience is an asset, training will be provided
- Experience in GC & general lab skills an asset
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail with good organizational skills
- Basic computer skills
- Team player with the ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment
Responsibilities
- Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions.
- Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
- Operate instruments such as GC-FID and TCD, with guidance from senior staff performing maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting.
- Perform basic analysis.
- Report results.
- Other duties as assigned.
