The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) is seeking a Laboratory Technician 2 for the Central Receiving section of the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL). ADDL is Ohio's state animal health laboratory, responsible for diagnostic testing to protect animal health. Central Receiving manages all incoming mail and clinical samples, including verifying documentation, accessioning them into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and routing them to the appropriate testing sections. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and accuracy of diagnostic processes within the state's agricultural sector. The ODA campus is located in Reynoldsburg on 158 acres, offering free parking and frequent food trucks. The agency is committed to strengthening Ohio through its 19 divisions and programs, ensuring the safety of consumed products, protecting farmland, improving soil and water quality, and keeping plants, crops, and animals free of pests and disease. ODA also houses the state's top food safety laboratory and oversees weights and measures accuracy standards and county and independent fairs.
