About The Position

ALS Services USA, Corp is seeking a Laboratory Technician 1 to perform routine laboratory tests and analyses, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols. This entry-level position is crucial for supporting our analytical operations.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
0-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in an analytical or industrial environment.
Basic understanding of laboratory safety procedures and good laboratory practices (GLP).
Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, weighing, solution preparation).
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with precision.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
To be eligible to work at ALS you must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the country you are applying for, or either hold or be able to obtain, a valid working visa.

Nice To Haves

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science) preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare samples for various laboratory analyses according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment, including but not limited to centrifuges, pH meters, and balances.
Perform routine chemical and physical tests on samples, accurately recording results.
Assist senior laboratory staff with more complex testing procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Document all work accurately and legibly in laboratory notebooks or LIMS system.
Participate in quality control activities and instrument calibration as directed.
Report any equipment malfunctions or discrepancies to supervisory staff.
Assist with inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagents.
