About The Position

ProHealth Care is seeking a Full-Time Laboratory Supervisor for Mukwonago Hospital. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and is a 1.0 FTE role. The schedule involves a variable start time between 0530 and 0800, with a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours support. While supervisory staff typically do not work 2nd/3rd shifts, weekends, or holidays, this may be required based on clinical operational needs. Approximately 30% of the work hours will be dedicated to performing testing, phlebotomy services, and specimen handling/processing. Driving between ProHealth Care locations for business purposes may be necessary using a personal vehicle. ProHealth Care offers a comprehensive system-wide laboratory operation with core hospital labs at Waukesha Memorial and Oconomowoc Memorial, as well as two clinic-based laboratory sites in Waukesha County. Our laboratory performs over 8 million tests annually, utilizing state-of-the-art facilities. Services include clinical testing in Histology, Cytology, Hematology, Coagulation, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunoassay, Microbiology, Transfusion Service, EIA, and Molecular Biology. We also have a vibrant outreach program serving numerous specialty hospitals, physician offices, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. Our Pathologists and PhDs collaborate closely with lab employees to ensure quality and implement new technologies. The Laboratory holds certifications and accreditations from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA).

Requirements

  • MLT Associates degree or MLS Bachelors degree required
  • ASCP Certification required
  • Team player, organized, self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of College of American Pathologists (CAP) regulatory requirements

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of supervisory and technical experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for directing and coordinating the daily operations and workflow for a defined department within ProHealth Care Laboratories.
  • Plans, coordinates, assesses and adjusts patient and/or specimen flow.
  • Supervises departmental personnel, budget and productivity.
  • Works as part of the laboratory leadership team to transform organizational goals and values into everyday practice.
  • Ensures a culture of patient safety in accordance with ProHealth Care philosophies, policies and procedures.
  • Must have the ability to work at various PHC Lab locations as needed.
