About The Position
The Laboratory Supervisor - Microbiology & Anatomic Pathology is a crucial role responsible for overseeing the operations of the microbiology and anatomic pathology departments. This includes patient testing, quality control, validations, overseeing the inventory of reagents and supplies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and troubleshooting issues. The supervisor will manage the flow process of these departments, resolve patient or instrument issues, and play a key role in implementing NYP enterprise and local initiatives. This position is vital for the operations of the laboratories, contributing to patient diagnosis and care. The supervisor will oversee 9 Laboratory Staff members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related science
- New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License from New York Education Department
- Meets all requirements of the New York State Department of Health for a Laboratory Supervisor
- Minimum of 4 years’ progressive clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of experience with a Master’s degree or 1 year of experience with a Ph.D.
