About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor to join its team in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role involves receiving and preparing clinical specimens, entering specimen and patient information, maintaining equipment and supplies, resolving specimen-related issues, and following procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and quality-focused laboratory environment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with rotating weekends. Pay is $17.75–$18.50, plus shift differential. Benefits eligibility depends on the employee’s regularly scheduled hours and employment category.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfort handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Basic computer knowledge and data-entry skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turnaround times.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Nice To Haves

• At least 3 months of specimen processing experience.
• At least 3 months of medical or laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical laboratory specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or enter specimen and patient information.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to maintain safety and quality standards.
