About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our team in Raritan, NJ. This role involves preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, including unpacking, routing, labeling, and packing/shipping specimens. The position also requires accurate data entry, problem resolution for specimens, and meeting department production goals. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens
