About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Accessioner/Processor to join our team at LabCorp Oklahoma in Tulsa, OK. This role involves acting as a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients, resolving customer requests, and preparing specimens for analysis. The position requires working with multiple databases, providing customer education, reviewing test forms, and accurately identifying and labeling specimens. Additionally, the role includes packing and shipping specimens, and preparing and storing excess specimen samples. Labcorp is a leader in diagnostics, drug development, and healthcare innovation, utilizing data and AI to improve health outcomes.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
Comfortable handling biological specimens
Ability to accurately identify specimens
Experience working in a team environment
Strong data entry and organizational skills
High level of attention to detail
Proficient in MS Office
Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

Current or prior Labcorp experience
Associates degree or higher
1 year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience

Responsibilities

Act as a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients.
Resolve internal & external customer requests via calls, instant messenger & email communications.
Communicate with customers in a respectful and professional manner.
Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions.
Provide customer education and information as needed.
Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies.
Prepare and triage specimens for analysis.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens as necessary.
Prepare and store excess specimen samples.
