About The Position

We are seeking a Laboratory Specimen Processor I for our Austin, TX location. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position working the first shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. Requirements

• Associate Degree or Phlebotomy Certification with High School Diploma
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Typing proficiency, including 10-key
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in a biological science or certification in a medical program technologist program
• 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing
• Data entry experience in a laboratory production environment

Responsibilities

• Open and verify check shipper sample types and ensure empty
• Complete Specimen receipt logs
• Specimen Receipt and forward problem samples/orders to exception handling
• Identify Issues (Ordering, Labeling, Specimen)
• Aliquotting of samples
• Discard, Archive (All of storage components)
• End of shift checklist: benches, staging and archiving units, shippers, biohazard bins
