About The Position

We are seeking a Laboratory Specimen Processor I for our Austin, TX location. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a sign-on bonus available. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient receipt, verification, and processing of laboratory specimens.

Requirements

• Associate Degree or Phlebotomy Certification with High School Diploma
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Typing proficiency, including 10-key
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in a biological science or certification in a medical technologist program
• 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing
• Data entry experience in a laboratory production environment

Responsibilities

• Open and verify check shipper sample types and ensure empty
• Complete Specimen receipt logs
• Forward problem samples/orders to exception handling
• Identify Issues (Ordering, Labeling, Specimen)
• Aliquot samples
• Complete end of shift checklist: benches, staging and archiving units, shippers, biohazard bins
