This position involves conducting, testing, and research within the Tritium and Hydrogen laboratories. The specialist will assist more experienced engineers or scientists in designing and setting up experiments, maintaining equipment, and collecting data. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and performing preventative maintenance on system components, managing inventory of contaminated equipment, and handling decontamination of radiological components and activated materials. The role also includes monitoring and maintaining experiments and operations within the Tritium Science group, overseeing engineering design, documentation, purchasing, scheduling, and safety assessments, and assisting in the development, installation, and testing of new components and systems. Maintaining radiation safety diagnostics and equipment, including tracking calibrations and performing weekly radiological surveys, is also a critical function.
