About The Position

McKesson is seeking a highly specialized Laboratory Solutions Specialist to support laboratory growth initiatives across our Northeast Territory, including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Candidates residing in New York City or Northern New Jersey are strongly preferred due to a significant concentration of customers and business opportunities in the New York metropolitan area. This is a consultative laboratory sales role focused on driving growth of laboratory instrumentation, reagents, and consumables while partnering with healthcare organizations and laboratory leaders throughout the region. Professionals established within the laboratory diagnostics industry with experience supporting Chemistry, Hematology, or Immunoassay specialties are sought. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of laboratory operations, experience selling diagnostic products or instrumentation, and an established network within the laboratory community. In this role, you will identify and develop new laboratory business opportunities, support customer equipment implementations, drive reagent and consumable growth, and collaborate closely with McKesson sales teams and supplier partners to expand market share throughout the Northeast Territory.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • 7 year motor vehicle record check completed as part of pre-employment
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory diagnostics and testing environments
  • Experience developing and managing complex sales opportunities
  • Ability to build relationships with laboratory leadership and healthcare decision-makers
  • Strong consultative selling and territory management skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and project management skills

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and close new laboratory equipment and diagnostic sales opportunities.
  • Expand business within existing accounts while driving growth through new customer acquisition.
  • Achieve territory sales objectives for instrumentation, reagents, and consumables.
  • Develop relationships with laboratory leaders, healthcare providers, and key decision-makers.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend solutions that improve operational and clinical performance.
  • Establish trusted partnerships that support long-term customer success.
  • Support laboratory equipment evaluations, implementations, installations, and customer acceptance.
  • Drive menu expansion opportunities and promote utilization of reagents and consumables.
  • Assist customers with laboratory planning and equipment placement decisions.
  • Partner with McKesson sales teams, supplier partners, and internal stakeholders to identify and develop opportunities.
  • Provide laboratory expertise throughout the sales process.
  • Support proposal development, laboratory planning, and customer presentations.
