About The Position
Ascension Alexian Brothers is seeking a Laboratory Scientist for a full-time, 1.0 FTE position working evenings with a weekend and/or holiday rotation. As one of the largest integrated laboratory networks serving hospitals in the Midwest region, Alverno includes 32 hospitals and multiple physician offices.
Requirements
- MLT: Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- MT: Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
- Or Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.
Responsibilities
- Specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results.
- Testing performed will include waived, moderate and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director.
- Report results of all tests performed according to established procedures.
- Participate fully in all quality control procedures.
- Comply with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and other applicable agencies.
- Perform specimen collection as necessary.
